Join us for an unforgettable rock climbing experience whilst watching the sunset at one of the Gritstone Edges in the Peak District. This experience is for 2 people, and whether you want to do it by yourself or share it with a friend, partner or your child is up to you!
Peak District Sunset Rock Climbing experience for 2
This experience is suitable for beginner climbers who have never tried climbing before or have done some indoor climbing and would like to try outdoor climbing.. If you are visiting the Peak District and are looking for things to do in Derbyshire or you live locally and want just a fun Peak District activity, this experience is for you.
You will have a go at Rock Climbing at one of the best locations in the Peak District, complete with stunning views, wonderful nature, and fantastic history. The venue will be one of the gritstone edges near Hathersage.
If there is time we will even aim to do an abseil!
This is a private group session. The cost includes up to 2 people and is available to be booked at 5 pm between April and October.

5 pm-7 pm, 5:30pm - 7:30 pm, 6 pm-8 pm

We provide all of the safety equipment including climbing shoes.

Being based in the UK, we are usually prepared for all weather! That means we recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothing as well as sun cream :) Please als bring snacks, lunch and water.

When you make the booking, we will get back to you within 24 hours and send you a disclaimer link that you can forward to everyone in the group. You will just need to let us know how many people are coming and their names so we know who to expect. We usually send all of the emails to just the person who booked the activity to liaise with the rest of the group.

If you have booked a session for the next day, we will get back to you as soon as we have access to emails. We are often working in the day out at the crag and sometimes there are a few hours in between responding to emails so if a slot is available and you booked the session, it’s on and we will get information over to you as soon as we can.
Our booking system one;ine closes 24 hours prior to the start time. If you would like a last minute booking within 24 hours please give us a ring and we will be happy to help if we can.

We conduct our sessions rain or shine! We will only cancel our courses if there are severe weather warnings. We know the area well and will find the most suitable place and adapt and change the activity if the weather is not quite optimal to ensure your best experience and reducing our impact on the environment. The staff who deliver your courses are highly qualified and experienced guides for many of whom this is their full time job. We recognise that the weather is the one thing that is out of our control and we will always be as flexible as we can to work with you whilst making sure that our jobs are sustainable. The Peak District stretches over 5 counties and we run our Rock Climbing courses and Abseiling in Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, and Greater Manchester.
Our ethos is to not only deliver a great quality experience through instructed sessions, but also to bring you to the best places in the Peak District.
Some of our favourite climbing locations also happen to be Peak District attractions so you will not be disappointed by the views! We have listed some of our favourite places to run our sessions below, we usually choose the crag based on your experience, goals, location and most importantly the weather. Some of the climbing areas can get busy during Bank Holidays so we try to take that into account too. If you have a preference let us know.

Stanage Edge
Rock Climbing at Stanage Edge should be the top of the list of best things to do in the Peak District! Stanage is a fantastic location for a rock climbing experience as there is over 4 miles worth of climbing routes to choose from. Located conveniently near Hathersage, it is a bit of a hub for climbing and accessible from all parts of the Peak District easily.

Burbage Rocks
With 5 minute walk to the climbing area, we like to run our Half Day Peak District Rock Climbing and Abseiling Experience here as you can really maximise your climbing time. Burbage has got everything that you need for a good day out - lots of climbing routes of varying difficulties, fun abseil and views over Higger Tor and Carl Wark.

Harborough Rocks
If you are looking for things to do in Matlock or Bakewell, rock climbing at Harboro Rocks will be a great addition to your itinerary. Located only 7 miles from Matlock and 11 miles from Bakewell it makes a great location for our Peak District Rock Climbing and Abseiling Experience. Limited parking means that we tend to not run our sessions here during Bank Holiday Weekends.

The Roaches
Being one of the main Peak District attractions - the Roaches should definitely be on your list of places to visit in the Peak District! Just a walk around this stunning landscape will give you a great day out but combining it with rock climbing and abseiling will definitely make the day memorable! The Roaches with its smaller neighbour Hen Cloud are popular Peak District rock climbing venues as they have tons of famous routes, perfect for beginner climber or a seasoned pro wanting push their grade.

Windgather
Windgather is a fantastic beginner friendly climbing location. Located less than 5 minutes from the car park - this makes a really good venue for Half Day courses. Windgather is one of Peak District’s oldest Rock Climbing venues and it is popular to this day with climbers and walkers. The parking is limited so we tend to not use this venue with large groups or during Bank Holiday weekends.
