Weaselling - Family Fun

We have never met a single child who does not enjoy squeezing through rock formations and exploring hidden caves and gaps!

What you can expect

You might be wondering, what is weaselling? It is somewhere between caving and climbing but you don’t go underground or high up on a rock. You squeeze and crawl through interesting rock formations and natural gaps on gritstone.

It is a super fun activity for children of all ages (the youngest adventurer we had was just 3 years old) and can be done in all weather. We can say hand on heart that most kids enjoy it even more then climbing! :) Parents are very welcome to join in on the fun too!

We like to incorporate this activity into our Family Climbing Day if the weather is not quite playing ball. If you book a full day, there is usually plenty of time to incorporate weaselling if you choose this on the day. Sometimes, it is also possible to squeeze it in during half day (if you make the climbing part shorter). If you would like to not eat into your climbing time, you can now add weaselling as an activity on top of your session. This fun circuit lasts around 40 minutes and is a few minutes drive from the climbing venues. (Only available at Stanage, Burbage or The Roaches).

Dogs are welcome :) Please just let us know in advance if you are bringing your 4-legged family member as we will choose the venue accordingly.

If you’d like to find out more or have any questions or particular requests, please get in touch as we are more than happy to help.

This is a super fun way to make your Family Climbing Experience last that bit longer and squeeze in extra fun! You can either book it at the same time as booking a family climbing session (you will have an option to add this on when you book) or if you have booked already, you can use the link below to add the extra activity.
